When purchasing and Outboard motor an option well worth considering is a Water Separating Fuel Filter.
Boats are often left standing for weeks on end without use and this may result in condensation building up, particularly where in built fuel tanks are left partially full. This along with poor fuel supply from stations can result in water getting into the outboards combustion system.
A relativley cost effective option to reduce this risk is a Water Separating Fuel Filter particulaly on larger outboard units.

* Clear Bowl style for ease of inspection. Part number 3Y7-02230-0
